| Johnston Man Arrested, Accused of Stealing Guardrails 46-year-old Stephen Silva of Johnston was arrested last week for allegedly cutting away the guardrail on the Lonsdale Avenue Bridge in Lincoln to sell it for scrap. Lincoln residents - and the police chief - say they've seen some strange things, but never anything quite this strange. Silva is now being held at the ACI, and the state must shell out the cash to pay for the guardrail replacement. |
| DEM: No West Nile or EEE in Rhode Island The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management announced this afternoon that tests for the West Nile Virus and Eastern Equine Encephalitis have both come back negative. Twenty-one traps were set up around the state during the week of June 23 and that none of the 37 groups of mosquitoes tested carried either. The tests are conducted weekly. |

(AP) - A Cape Cod man has been ordered held without bail after he allegedly beat another man with a baseball bat because he thought the man was a New York Yankees fan. Twenty-year-old Robert Correia pleaded not guilty in Falmouth District Court to charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and malicious damage to a motor vehicle. He faces a dangerousness hearing on Wednesday. |
